About
I am a PhD candidate at the Climate Change Research Centre at the University of New South Wales, Australia. I will be conducting research on heatwaves under the supervision of Dr Sarah Perkins-Kirkpatrick, A/Prof Alex Sen Gupta and A/Prof Melissa Hart.
I completed my Bachelor's in Environmental Science at the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. For my undergraduate research project I assessed the impact of extreme weather events on coconut productivity in Sri Lanka under the supervision of Dr Erandathie Lokupitiya. I then pursued a Master's in Climate Change Science and Policy at the University of Bristol, UK. For my master's dissertation I investigated the sub-daily variability in temperature and relative humidity and their impact on heat stress under the supervision of Dr Dann Mitchell and Dr Oli Andrews.
